TEACH 4: Exchange, inspiration and new ideas

Bringing together diverse perspectives: The exchange with like-minded people at the TEACH conference sparked numerous exciting ideas.

Hosted by HIDA, the fourth TEACH conference was the central platform for educators in the Helmholtz Association to exchange innovative ideas, learn from each other and establish valuable networks.

On November 21 and 22, teaching staff, researchers, coordinators, and developers convened in Berlin for the fourth TEACH conference. The HIDA Hub offered an inspiring setting for exchange, fresh ideas, and collaborative learning. The conference seamlessly combined academic rigor with a welcoming, personal atmosphere – a combination that resonated deeply with participants.

Prof. Dr. Silke Schworm from the University of Regensburg opened the event with an engaging keynote. Her talk focused on how to effectively convey learning content through digital formats – a topic of critical relevance in today's educational landscape. The lecture was recorded. You can watch it now!

Lasting encounters

The program offered an impressive variety: alongside engaging lectures, participants could join hands-on workshops to develop specific didactic approaches and take part in a creative Bar Camp, where they introduced and collaboratively explored their own topics.

What truly set the TEACH conference apart, however, was not just the stimulating content but the personal interactions. Whether during coffee breaks or discussions between sessions, the atmosphere was marked by openness and a genuine willingness to learn from one another. These connections extend beyond the event itself, fostering long-term collaboration and advancing teaching practices well into the future.

On Friday afternoon, it was time to bid farewell. Yet even after the official close of the event, participants gathered in small groups, continuing to exchange ideas and deepen discussions.

The TEACH conference underscored the vital importance of dialogue among educators. With fresh inspiration, renewed motivation, and strengthened professional networks, the participants now return to their institutions, ready to implement new ideas.
